If my /mother/ sends me html email, I delete it immediately. Of
course, everyone who sends me email knows enough not to send html.

That's great, man. But there are times when a conscious choice has
been made between two people to send/receive HTML. For example, a
friend and I regularly send each other HTML mail for specific reasons.
It's not "evil" when necessary or accepted.

Looks good ... thought forevergeek recommends 30 simultaneous
connections ... not a good idea, even with broadband. I'd keep
it at around 5 or 6.
Seconded..30 is a lot.Ive used that tweak in IE for ages..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings

MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server 8

MaxConnectionsPerServer 6

Ive noticed that having too many connections can render parts of the page
missing ,especially small gifs or jpegs , that you usually see in forums
etc.

Well, give us an example URL so I can test for myself... :)

I have that problem as well. I suspect it's a combination of Moz being
less aggressive at trying to reach the URL and the ISP in use.

Ah, I see. Take a look at this extension:

http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=387

Install the "repackaged version" at the bottom. I just tried it and
it works fine. By default, however, it enables sounds for lots of
actions (mouse over buttons, etc). So to have sounds only when you
click a link (which, in reality, is "loading" something), just open
the Extensions menu (after installation) and turn OFF every sound
in every tab, except for "content-loadstart", which is left ON.
Then you'll get a user-customisable sound whenever you click a link.
I actually quite like this now that I've tried it, so thanks! :)

Yes, that works nicely. Thank you. I did change the navigation sounds,
though. The default ones are rather obnoxious.

Not quite what I am looking for. I want to send the whole
page as viewed on the browser in the body of the message.
Thanks anyway.
Earlier builds (0.8?) had File | Send Page. Is it gone from
whatever ver. you have?

I have File/Send Link. Version 1.0 Does yours really have File/Send Page
and does it really send the whole page within the body?

I cannot test any of this because:
1. userchrome (v0.8) contains
menu[label="File"] menuitem[label="Send Page..."] {
display: none !important;
}
2. Even if I disabled the above, I do not use "MailTo" in any
form.

Sorry. :(

The Send Page only copied link into the mail message. That is probably
the reason the description was changed from send page to send link in the
file menu.

Hint for you. You have no idea what I am sending to people. Those that I
send it to want it in the e-mail body. It is not necessary for you to teach
me Netiquette. Just because I prefer IE to Firefox doesn't make me an
idiot. Try reading some other responses in this thread to learn how to be
helpful rather than smug and sarcastic.

As someone who has been doing tech support for years, I say, do what
makes you and your recipients feel comfortable. Frank reminds me of the
guys I worked with who used to say "The network would be perfectly fine
if we didn't have these d#%n users all over it."

Computers should work for people, not the other way around.

Just FYI, must email programs allow you to customize the format that you
send to specific people in your address book. It's usually in
"properties" or "Send Options" when you click on the contact in your
address book. IE/OLE do, and so does MozFF/Tbird. That's if you wanted
to know...

Don't let Frank get to you. Keep posting, someone will set you right.

p.s. I did the instructions at:
http://forevergeek.com/open_source/make_firefox_faster.php
posted a couple of days ago. FF totally screams now.
