firefox more succesful

I have just installed Opera 9 so far much improved over IE lost the
flickering now which is a bonus.
I decided to try Opera as I have Firefox running on my other computer with
an older version of Opera - need to work out the cookie server thing again
but other than that I feel it is faster than Firefox is on XP atm.
This forum is nicely rendered in Opera hopefully IE7 will improve before the
final release but it does feel better to have tabs which are working without
flashing/flickering. Will be watching all 3 browsers now.

I disabled the Flash plugin for IE and the flickering seems to have stopped.

Never tried Opera but I think I might have to check it out. I'd like to see
some alternative browsers (not that I dislike IE at all, in fact I do like
it), I'd just like to try an alternative , and I don't like Firefox (the
Fisher Price My First Browser) even a little.

Interesting tip about the flash plugin with IE thanks, will try this.
I shut down last night a little frustrated with Opera as it was having
issues with on of my e-mail accounts when trying to access the webserver - it
still has issues with specific sites/pages :( I found some nice featuers over
the old version for preferences per site but cookies are still somehitng
which need to be worked out better.

One thing with IE7 I was able to use my preferences fgor cookies and manage
to keep my browser with limited ones - I had forgotten all the server cookie
configs with Opera. Will be trying again later with Vista to see if Opera
behaves today.
Definitely tabbed browsing is a lot better than IE7 would be nice if this
could be refined with the other glitches and memory things. Pity we didn't
get the updates for the browser before RC1 although I don't think the IE beta
3 for XP is smooth either :(

I really hoped to have just one browser especially with Vista will know more
today about keeping Opera installed. I know it took me a while with XP to
get used to Opera so back to basics with Vista. Must be a nightmare for
webdesigners for page rendering etc Perhaps the overall resource usage with
Vista as it is now doesn't help IE7 very much for a true web browser
experience.
