FEAR running slow

So what settings and resolution are you trying to play it on? you still aint said, FEAR is a beast of a game.

Have you patched the game?

HL2 Ep1 is a bit of a beast too you may find you get the same problems....

i havent been able to patch the game and im only playing it on medium settings. effects on medium. i even tried low settings wich made the graphics look like jigsaw pieces still it lags.

well by saturday i'm getting a new HDD so i haven't tried reinstalling it yet.i'll get a SATA HDD this time.120GB seagate barracuda 7200 rpm

the others my HDD space might be too low that's why its lagging.
 
One last question, Have you got the latest Nvidia Drivers? From HERE

I think there was a mention of something being fixed to improve FEAR...

ive read through the release notes and it says the fix is for the 7800 GTX.but i'll go ahead and download the latest drivers and update the version that i have.thanks again.will install the game again on the new HDD and lets see how it fares.

thanks again for the driver update link.i always forget to update my drivers :p

Missed that the first time, When you reinstall on your new drive get the latest patch and video drivers. It may help, but not always. Either way, its good to be up to date. :)
 
woohooo.finally got the sata HDD.just finishing installing WinXP on it.also added 1 more GB of ram so its now 2 gB of ram on dual channel mode:D

will say here what happens after i reinstall FEAR.

Quake 4 and HalfLife Episode 1 seems to load a lot faster now :D

more sleepless nights for me then...

got the old HDD and added it to my internet PC.should have more space now for DL and stuff ;)
