Hi Ace,
Problem with the VPN is that I suspect there is nobody to contact. It is a
Shiva VPN and they are long time out of business.
I can see three options:
1) Build another DC and create all the accounts, issue new passwords and
switch to the new DC. We might lose half of our customers by causing
disruption and inconvenience.
2) Start re-install of Windows and chose repair when it finds the old
installation. This might fix it and we do not lose the user accounts (I
hope). However, it would disrupt the service and there is a chance it would
not fix the problem
3) Build another DC, create backup from the old one, restore it to the new
one and then just switch them over. This would be the preferred option as it
causes minimal disruption to users. The only problem is that I do not know
if it is possible to do it and still have all applications working
afterwards.
What do you think?
