Depends on what you're plans are. If they include p2p file sharing,FRED said:Has anyone any experience with this, is it any good, or should I be using

How so? EZ-AV (I presume that is what we are really discussing here
despite probable typos/misunderstandings) doesn't directly scan
instant messenger or P2P file transfers (nor FTP etc) BUT it does
monitor files on OPEN so I dont see what the problems might be.

There is no need for ETrust EZ Antivirus to scan mail, P2P or messenger
files, simply because it scans all files when they are created or opened.
In other words, it does exactly the same job, only with much less bloat
and crap.

Exactly what I was thinking... I laugh at the outbound mail scanners
(even inbound too) - I think it is sufficient to scan for known
viruses on file open. BTW: the assumption here is that the AV program
scans ALL files on open - not just favourite extensions (since file
extensions can be obscured [thanks Windows default folder settings] or
just plain wrong).

But it does, in version 6.2. Not sure that's an improvement, though.

I have used EZ Trust since it was the free InoculateIT PE.....and I like it.Klas Törnquist said:But it does, in version 6.2. Not sure that's an improvement, though.
**The firewall with it is the free Zone Alarm....I have ZA Pro, so didn't
want to downgrade that.
Bart Bailey said:Have you had a go at the re-wrapped ZA from Computer Associates called
eTrust EZ Firewall? Mine's v4.5.585, not sure if there's a later
version, but I really like this one.
Just checked, this IS the latest.

wanted email scanning... Obviously a marketing decision. Maybe it makes
people feel better - I used to turn it off except that then the tray icon
had a big red X over it - implying something was wrong...
