Sorry, I didn't explain what I meant... I was talking of explorer as
file manager, not as shell.
Thank you, again

Try explorer2 (2 is an exponent). It was written by the fellow who
wrote the quite popular 2xexplorer. His new one has a free lite version
and a fancier one for money.

The light one can be easily configured to act and look like explorer.
It also has the option of displaying 2 panes and/or a file tree display.
Find it at: www.zabkat.com

I'm searching for quite a complete clone of winxp explorer, but not
putting all its crap in registry.
Does such a software exist?

You do realise that the registry is basically one of the -core- elements
of Windo$e-[32]/[64], don't you? If you have such a problem with it
(especially where a file manager is concerned), you should probably
switch to another OS that does not use one.

I think registry should be used just for storing core and critical system
info as it is a core element of windows, as you just pointed out.
Anyway, it *is* supposed to be the place where saving informations such as
some tiny little freeware, but at least this piece of software should give a
me a way to unistall it frm my registry, as usually no programs do.
This is why I prefer INIs or XMLs as init files.

Thanx I'll have a look
