I ordered 4 512 MB PC2100 DIMMs on Oct. 28 (about ten days ago) and just
called them this morning. They said the order would ship today. Pretty
disappointing as there was no indication that these weren't in stock before
or after I ordered them. We'll see if they really do ship today.

Has anyone else done business with this company? Care to share your
experiences?

Thanks,

Dave

10 days? no 28 days do I have experience with WHAT company? Your
basically....silly

If you could read subjects, you MIGHT be able to figure it out. Then again,
if you don't know how to spell "you're", you might not.

Hey jeff thanks for the spelling critique, but i hate to tell ya but choosing spell checker in a NG is not the greatest career
choice.
'Computer Surplus Outlet' could mean just about anything, pretty general vague name for a company no wonder they suck, as much
as you.

Man, you're a real class act...

Then how do you know it's a company? Or are you just admitting that you
tried to slam someone without reading the subject, and taking a second crack
at making fun of something is your attempt at an apology?

no apology, specially to you, the actual name was so vague and in the subject, that I thought it was a generalization and the
name of the company would have come in the body....STFU

Uh huh, whatever you say Einstein. Just about everyone uses the term
"Computer Surplus Outlet" to mean "some generic store that I'm not going to
name, just to be difficult."

The memory you ordered from CSO was registered ECC RAM?

Yep: NEW 512MB DDR PC2100 266MHz ECC Registered. It's way cheap!

Also, it would appear that it's actually enroute.

Just thought I'd followup on the results of this transaction. The RAM
arrived today, Dec. 13, 2003, just over two weeks after ordering.

Unfortunately, the RAM delivered is not 266 MHz. It is 133 MHz. Now, it's
been over ten years since I assembled significant numbers of computers, so
I'm no longer up to speed on all the finer points, but I have to assume that
this totally sucks! That using this RAM is going to cause a bottleneck in my
system performance, no?

I've already confirmed that the order specifically states 266 MHZ.

As they don't conduct business on the weekend, I'll have to wait until
Monday to see what they'll do to correct the order.

How did you determine that it's 133MHz? If there was some indicator in the
package or on the stick, that's one thing. But if it's set at 133 in your BIOS,
that's another. 133 is the correct setting for 266 RAM since DDR means it's
doubled.

If you don't already have AIDA32 installed, you can get it here:

http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32

Install and run that. Under Motherboard > SPD, Memory Speed should show as
PC2100 (133 MHz). AIDA32 will also confirm if your memory is ECC.

I should've specified. I read it off the label on the DIMM. See
