Exams

My goodness, jolly good score young man, most excellent :)

In a perverse way, I used to kinda enjoy exams, looked at them as a challenge.

Last one I took was in September '84 (I passed) and that will be the last one I take. A man sometimes reaches an age where..... ;)

Cheers guys :D

I don't think the PhD has any more exams (as such), so hopefully that will be the last one too :D The PhD is in "Advanced Flight Deck Display Methods" - basically creating a new cockpit from scratch to improve the interface using some new technologies that are available (3D LCDs, Touchscreens etc... rather than switch arrays and complex 2D MFDs). Once the system is designed then it will be built onto a motion base simulator with the new technologies and then virtually flight tested.

So what sought of job will you go for after a PhD??
I flunked my "O" levels & only just passed my trade quals, so it was a big surprise to pass A+ first time:D So Ian how's the headache this morning??

For a job, it will probably be with one of the companies sponsoring the PhD or maybe even self employed - not sure yet, will just have to see how it goes. The PhD isn't 100% definite yet, as I still need to hear back about some of the funding before I get the thumbs up (although it's very probable).

How'd you guess  It's not too bad, although I don't feel to perky I have to admit!

I know from friends who are ex-military aircraft techies that their are good jobs out there for staff in reasearch & development within the aircraft industries.

Good luck with whay you do:thumb:

Got the exam results back today and got a 2:1, a little but gutted as I was only about 1% away from a 1st. Its over now though so no point me winging about it ;) As long as the mark is high enough for me to move onto the PhD I don't mind! :D

Got a voice message from the uni yesterday saying they needed to speak to me urgently, and to ring them back - it turns out they had a rounding error in excel and it effected 2 peoples results. It was enough to bump me into a 1st!!! I can't quite believe it :D :D :D
