I've purchased several copies for customers recently and I notice that
on the refurbished "ca store" website they now offer an "extended
download" service for an extra seven bucks. I could be wrong, but I
suspect that unless you've purchased this little ripoff, you'll only
be able to download the time-of-purchase version when you login to "my
account" anytime more than thirty days after your purchase. Hope I'm
misreading the definition of "extended download", because it sounds
like bullshit to me. Fortunately, you can always get the new stuff
manually at the original ftp site.

Yes, I came home from work and found that I was updated to 8842. Now
I'm just waiting for the official update to EZ Armor so I can have the
latest version of everything...

Looking at ftp://ftpez.ca.com/pub/myeTrust/apps/ , I see that the full
version of EZArmor is dated way back on 6/28/04. Ancient.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. The reason I made my
comment was that I'm aware that AV is up to 7.x and FW is up to 5.x.
Both are way ahead of what EZArmor is including.

According to CA there is an iminent upgrade and current paid users will
be informed via email when it happens.

Which is exactly what I wrote. There was no sarcasm.

I should hope so.

I'm running stock Firefox 1.0 and haven't added or configured
anything, and when clicking on the link I get a box that reads
"you have chosen to open EZAntivirus.exe and offers to save it
to disk.

Hi Jafo......I tried it again just now and this time no problem in
downloading it. So have saved it and will give it a try.....I too am
running a stock Firefox 1.0.

Even tho I have the free MS version of EZ Armor, I found out that I could
update it with the latest versions of the AV part......that is all I opened
from it.....not the firewall.

Thanks....Heather

It's May 17, 2005, to be correct.

BTW come the end of May 2005 (I think it was the 27th), all versions of EZ
Firewall up to 4.5 will not be supported any longer.

Harry.

Do you have the link for the orignal website, Jafo?
I seem to be getting swallowed up by the "new website".
When I update they 'upgrade' and immediately charge after a 15 day trial,
completely ignoring my subscription.
Not a good practice.

Harry.
