Etrust EZ-AV ... updates getting rare?

I used to get updates for this AV every business day ...
sometimes more often.

Now it's stretching out ... 12/24 ... 12/30 ... 12/31 ...
nothing since. Is this just a holiday schedule? Or am I being
blocked? Any ideas?

Stinger, Spybot S&D, AdAware SE, and Housecall don't find
anything.

There is a later version.......7.0.3.1 and it seems to check for updates as
soon as I come online......I have the same 8838 Update and same Engine.

I believe the latest is 7.0.5.3, corrects a security bug in previous 7
versions.

Also, just as an FYI the latest version in EZ Armor is 6.2.1.1 and I am
also showing 8838 as the latest update.

Why does my updater tell me I already have the latest version (7.0.3.1),
when there is a more recent one available?

I have the AV part of EZ Armor and updated it to version 7.0.3.1.....didn't
realize I could do that until SKS told me. I will look for the newer one
7.0.5, but am quite sure that mine + safe hex will do the job.

I was all over their website and cannot find the above version.....do you
have a link? IMO, their website is the pits!! (G) But I didn't see Sammy,
thank goodness!!

I have 7.0.5.3. On the EZ website (agreed it is the pits), go into My
Account and download the latest version.

OK......thanks. I was on that page, but wonder if it is because I have the
AV half of EZ Armor.....shouldn't matter, but durned if I could find
anything but *r-something 2005*, grin.

Hi Heather, agree, the "new" look is for the pits. I didn't know you were
using the Armor Suite..seem to recall in their FAQ or one of their
emails,the suite is updated as one, not indiviually.

The current program version is 7.0.5.3, available at
ftp://ftpez.ca.com/pub/myeTrust/apps/EZAntivirus.exe

Sig file update 8842 was uploaded at 21:25 yesterday, 1/3/04.

And the v7.x versions attempt to check for sig file updates once
every eight hours if you're online.
 
Okey, so I went to 'my account' and updated everything (antivirus plus
firewall) and wound up practically with the same thing I had before
(actually less, because during installation of the update I was informed
that there would be no spam protection by the antivirus and I may not be
able to uninstall.
Conclusion: I was better off before the update.
Go figure!

P.S.: I have a paid subscription for both.

Just last night I updated through 'my account:' and didn't get this.
Out of couriosity, how did you aquire your information?

Thanks Wayne......when EZ Trust came up for renewal, I decided to go with
the free EZ Armor, but just the AV part coz I have ZAPro and I didn't want
to either revert to the free one or go to a higher version of the pay one.
I prefer to stay at least two versions back on ZA......hate beta testing it
for them, grin!!

And I will say that the CA tech support (once I found it) were very helpful
and courteous. It is just that the website was such a mess and I detest
*Sammy*.....prefer a real person.

Thanks Jafo.....I got the update 8842 last night and I notice that every
time I go online that EZ checks for updates. I tried to get the above
address but can't get there with Firefox. I will try it with IE. Or add
IEView to Firefox. Weighing all the options and extensions with Firefox,
but so far I like it very much......way faster and no popups!!

BTW come the end of May 2005 (I think it was the 27th), all versions of EZ
Firewall up to 4.5 will not be supported any longer.

Yes, I came home from work and found that I was updated to 8842. Now
I'm just waiting for the official update to EZ Armor so I can have the
latest version of everything...

I'm running stock Firefox 1.0 and haven't added or configured
anything, and when clicking on the link I get a box that reads
"you have chosen to open EZAntivirus.exe and offers to save it
to disk.
