But so far I am happy with the photo quality.

Just out of curiousity, if you're in the UK, why do u even bother to
print the photos yourself when you can get them printed at only 15p a
piece (albeit for orders of 40 and more) ??? That's dead cheap!!!

Yup, I quite agree - but that's for 6x4 prints. It's what I did with a
good selection of my Hong Kong photos from my recent holiday, at
Jessops, and I was *delighted* with the results. And not a one wasted,
of course, cos I'd selected and edited them before I handed the CD in.

However, still need the inkjet for those glorious A4 print-outs at home
showing off your best photos!!

Cheers!

recently my friend develoiped a roll of B&W film at Jessops and she
says she'll never go there again as the quality of the film handling
and processing was very bad. She's in Newcastle.

My Epson does run a head cleaning cycle all too often...just like my
old Canon BJC3000 did but that BJC was easily refillable.

I think that's why my ink has gone down so quickly. It does this even
when there's only a day or two of no printing. at least the canon does
this less infrequently.

question, do u guys turn off the mains to the unit or just the
powerswitch on the printer? I do both. seems to make no difference to
the head cleaning frequency.

I let my printer turn itself on and off as needed. It powers up when I
need to print a document, and it powers down after 30 minutes of
inactivity.

The power to the printer is never cut off unless the power fails at my
place. Whether this reduces cleaning cycles, I'm not sure, but it does
insure the printheads are parked properly every time.
