Great to hear!

I've produced a test version for Windows, at:

http://www.hamrick.com/files/test4870.zip

It would be useful if someone with a 4870 (and Windows) could
test this and let me know if the "Filter|Infrared clean"
option works, or if there's an offset sometimes between the
dust spot location and the cleaned area.

It's possible that the RGB and Infrared passes aren't perfectly
aligned, and that I'll have to align these two passes in software.

Doug,
Are you still considering a 2 strip 120 holder?

I have this on my list for prototyping but I have another project to
complete first. Thanks for the interest though.

I get a fatal error out of this program Ed. "Vuescan has generated errors
and will be shut down" Says it's generating a log but I can't find it.
Win 2k

The e-mail in reply is real.

RETRACT!
The use of the work "Horribly" was improper.
Thanks Ed for all your help. I have the utmost respect for you
efforts and your product does consistently produces results that are
in the top of its class.
I have posted time scores in the past and if you do a search on
'drietow' you could probably still find them. I am always willing to
help in any way possible. In the future I will try to be more factual
then descriptive.

Aloha

Win 2k

To generate a vuescan.log file, try the following procedure:

1) Turn off the scanner
2) Delete vuescan.ini
3) Run VueScan
4) Set "Output|Output log file"
5) Exit VueScan
6) Turn on the scanner
7) Run VueScan
8) Press the Preview button (if it hasn't generated an error)
9) E-mail vuescan.log to me

Thanks,
Ed Hamrick

I spent 20 minutes looking for these times, but couldn't find
them. Could you perhaps do another comparison, setting the
"Input|Lock exposure" option?

Thanks,
Ed Hamrick

Hello Ed,
I just tested Vuescan prerelease 79 with a Epson 4870.
Configuration : Celeron 2,6Ghz, 1,256Gb Ram, slide Fuji provia 100
4"x5"
Options selected in vuescan : 2400bpi, infrared clean : medium, grain
reduction : none, sharpen : on, output size A4.
The result is very nice no more dust can be seen (there was dust on
the slide !)
Thank you for your efforts !
Regards
Claude
