Never a good idea. Import/export loses data.
The problem I still have is that my
new mail only shows up on my home computer and I set them both as you
suggested. I ran a test message on my office computer and it did not
show up. Any suggestions?

Use a web interface (if you can) to examine the mailbox on the server to see
if the messages remain there. If you don't see them, then you haven't
correctly set up the option to leave them there.

While viewing the Inbox on this PC, press Alt-Ctrl-S. Examine the
Send/Receive Groups dialogue for the check boxes labeled "Schedule an
automatic send/receive every". Those check boxes should be marked and the
"minutes" field should contain a value of about ten minutes.

If you want to be able to see the data on both machines, then both must
leave a copy on the server. One (or both), however, should be configured to
delete the messages from the server when Deleted Items is emptied and
consider configuring one to remove messages from the server after a certain
number of days. Choose a number that exceeds the inverval between
subsequent uses of either PC. Of course, if you want your server to retain
messages indefinitely, then don't configure this. Periodically, though,
you'll need to connect to the server and delete unneeded messages or you
risk running out of server space. Many ISPs impose a limit on how much you
can retain in the mailbox.

Go to Tools-Account Settings, highlight the account, click on Change, and in
that dialog box click on "Test Account Settings". That will come up with
error messages that can be used to diagnose the problem.

I did this and the test message did not show up. If I clicked on send/receiev then I got the test message. What can I do so that the message shows up without having to go to send/receive all the time?

You don't need to. The "Test Account Settings" box will show errors IN THE
BOX if there are any. Wait for the Test Account Settings to complete.

I did this and the mail still does not show up unless I click on the
send/receive icon in outlook.
