While the gesture is appreciated, I know that I for one won't take it
personally if you make only one post thanking everyone. :)

Here's what seems like a reasonable response:

But, oh no, Miss Manners is gonna drop a troll-turd:

The OP proceedes with a resonably responsive, albeit unnecessary reply:

"dkg_ctc" <[email protected]>, aka Miss Manners, temporarily taking a break from
being the village-spelling-troll, (evading the obvious well-deserved title emitrius of "The
Village Botard") and dwelving into a new line of endeavor as the resident village-style-
and-netiquette-troll driveled this ipse-dixit manifesto for all to read and analyze before
the optional extensive and extended communal discussion and vote to be announced at a later
date and conducted and consummated in privledged secrecy as notified by and through the
illustrious resident rectus-illuminatus, posted this little gem

Ohhhhh Noooooo. And it's ALL about YOU, for one, personally! That's why they call it a
"newsgrope"? So, what happens IF: he posted a single thanks to everyone, then someone else
following one of the thread's spin-offs catches the fragmented query and posts a responsive
reply to which the OP has more questions and / or remarks? Never thought about that, did
you, troll-bot? (It's rhetorical. Nobody really cares what is your opinion!)

Hint: You were being thanked P - O - L - I - T - E - L - Y before someone told you that
your suggestion S - U - C - K - S -- diplomatically and thinly-veiled as a thanks.

Unfortunately, I already have your suggested style [of a collective thanks posted to my
original message] copyrighted; and, anybody caught implementing that style without my
explicit permission will be severly litigated by the Large Claims Court, the FCC, FTC,
RIAA, NASA and possibly the SPCA.

Therefore, posters who do not purchase a very expensive license to access my copyrighted
style and format MUST continue to post individual 'thank-you' articles in response to
specific helpful posts, with particulars meticulously delineated therein and thereupon.

No, Bwayna, don't worry. Saying thanks to each individual person is
_not_ a bad thing. Very kind and polite, but that's just an opinion
(although I know there are others here that will feel the same way.)
There are some very nice people in this ng so don't let anything like
this chase you away, pls. It's a nice group.

Cheers!
