Poppeeper will do it: http://www.poppeeper.com

Not really, but if you get Hotpopper from www.boolean.ca, you can use
Hotmail like any other POP3 account.

Hotmail Popper is one of a kind.
It allows the user to set up existing web based Hotmail accounts as
POP accounts, thru various email clients such as Outlook Express,
Eudora, etc., which thus permits the application of message rules &
anti-spam software to Hotmail.

As others have suggested, there's PopPeeper available from
http://www.poppeeper.com/ . There's also ePrompter, from
http://www.eprompter.com/ , which supports many types of accounts,
and older versions of MailWasher which you can get from
http://www.pctip.ch/downloads/dl/23369.asp . I recommend the 2.0.28
verion--but don't let the beta status fool you, I found no issues
stability-wise.

My needs are basic and Poppeeper I believe will meet them. Thank you
for your comments.
Why don't you just reply to your own post with "thanks" for all good people
that helped you in your search?
