Elder Scrolls 4, Q and perhaps A

How long you had the card for?
and does the breaking up graphics effect only happen with Oblivion? If you have any other games then just checking to see if they run without the breaking graphics might be a good idea :)

The whole system is new, 4 months old ... the graphics problem is only in Oblivion, but I do not have any other games. :o

The "problem" is a snow-like-interference/freeze for a second or two and big colour blocks ... on anybody else's system I'd be telling them to update the game and graphics drivers ... I have done both. However, I cannot seem to find, if there are any, updates/fixes for Oblivion.

I'll go and "borrow" a few of my Nephews and see what happens. ;)

its probably just Oblivion that has this graphic trouble, it is quite a demanding game ;).
do you know if you have the game running in SLI mode? only having one card in sli mode may have those effects.

Prey tell me how to find such a 'mode' ... as I said, I ain't no games player ... any games that I have played on my older system all played fine, but, they were not hardware taxing games.

Go on, tell me it is only me seeing this crap ...

as much as i'd like to ;) i think the only real way around the graphic problem is a card upgrade...or some miracle patch. :( at least it isnt wrecking your game :D

TD, I have PCi-E .. NOT SLi ... ;)

And not much can actually use SLi ... yet. :D

Will this help ...

... the latest nvidia driver version included an SLI profile for Oblivion
Go into your My Documents folder, under My Games and then Oblivion. There is a .txt file in there called RendererInfo.txt. Open it, there is an option that says SLI mode, look to the right, if it says Yes you are in SLI mode in the game, if it says no, you aren't. If it says no you can change it to Yes and that should enable it.

;)

no point for me im still using AGP slot :D
was it enabled for you mucks? you should definitly have a go with it when you fit your new card.
