It was with great delight that I used IEradicator to remove IE a few
days after trialling Mozilla, and I sure as *L* ain't putting it back
:)

No, I think the query arises as News Reader said in his previous post
that Housecall (for Netscape) asks you to install a small utility
program to allow Housecall to run on Netscape. As Mozilla is based on
Netscape, or the other way round, whatever, it would seem that the
utility should install on Mozilla, but it don't appear to want to.

Well, I do hope things work out in the end between you and Housecall.

Keith, I just tried using Moz to access an online scan and got the
following message:

Information on this page requires a plug-in for:
application/x-trendjavascan-plugin

Navigator can retrieve the plug-in for you from:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/install.html

To retrieve the plug-in now, click the Get the Plug-in button and then
select the plug-in you need from the page that appears. If you have
trouble installing the plug-in, make sure that Java and JavaScript are
enabled in Advanced preferences, and that software installation is
enabled (in the Software Installation category under Advanced).

I downloaded the file, but you say it won't work with Mozilla. I'm
going to email them at:

mailto:[email protected]

and suggest that they look into making their site compatible with
Mozilla, since it's possible that more people are using it now than
Netscape.

Hope they see the light. 80)>

You should not be opening any attachements without varifying where they
came from.

Verifying where an attachment came from is not easy.

More importantly, though, the source doesn't matter. Many viruses will email
themselves to anyone in the victim's address book. So, if you receive an
email from a friend, it could be a virus. Knowing that it came from your
most trusted friend is no indication of it's safeness.

Thanks for the news John, I'm sure you'll let us know of the outcome

Heh. Well, I will if they respond. You might want to drop them a line
and make the same suggestion.
