That may just be a lousy manual. Even some of the Japanese manual
leave a lot to be desired, including one Samsung TV which has a
built in digital TV tuner which the manual says nothing explicit
about.

C'mon, Rod...Samsung is Korean, not Japanese!

But thats a much more high end product than the cheapest chinese
stuff.

Well, "high-end Chinese stuff" would be a bit of an oxymoron, no?

Nope, not as far as that twin tuner stuff is concerned.

Yup, use it to record the most of the late night shows no problems.

I finally got one of these and got it running. I have looked at the
manual and I did not find answers to these questions:

I find that most of the menus and displays are much too small for me
to read unless I get up and stand less than three feet from my 32
inch TV. I can easily see the menus of my vcrs and my Dish 508 DVR.

Is there a way to make the menus and displays bigger?

When I use the rewind live TV function, the DVR often shuts itself
off. My brother also bought one of these and he has the same
problem. How can we avoid this?

Yeah, the manuals are often close to useless.

They often dont even state what it can do clearly.

Usually not.

By buying one thats been properly implemented.

Sometimes its just that the manual doesnt say how to do something properly.

You just have to work that out by trial and error with the worst of them.

But even the Topfield class systems can be very buggy too.
