Any movie backup software out there?
Just got a DVD burner and want to back up my movies before I lose any more
to
scratches and children.

Check out the Doom9 site, all the info you'll need. http://www.doom9.org/
(not all the progs listed are freeware, but the site also has some good
advice for getting started)
I've found the easiest way to back-up discs is to use DVD Shrink
http://www.dvdshrink.org/ (freeware)

DVD Decrypter is very easy to use freeware and will defeat most copy
protection: http://www.dvddecrypter.com/download.asp If you're copying a
single-layer DVD, set Decrypter to rip an ISO image. You can then use DVD
Decrypter to burn that ISO to a blank DVD. If it's a dual-layer DVD you are
copying, rip all the contents and then use DVD Shrink to shrink it to fit on
a DVD-/+R disc:

Just in case you need a second opinion, I recommend DVD Shrink as well.
