dvd drives dont work

Can i ask did you buy it from a freind?

Did he/she know it was broken before you got it.

You can get a cd/dvd burner dead cheap today new some are 30 to 40 pounds.

Tesco,pc world, asda do some cheap burner.

But look around first and try get a freind to fix it for you.

no not a friend,i called up a business who deals in second hand computers.they probably knew it was broken.

i had no idea that you could buy a burner seperate.

thanks so much for your help.much appreciated

You may wanted to ring the company you got it from and tell them.

Most second hand goods come with 3 month free repairs.

Usb burner are abit more but not alot, with a usb burner you just plug it in at the back.

If you buy one which fit inside the pc you will have to open it and remove the drive you have at the moment.

the companys just probably check that it switches on and off.

its quite an old one but i was not to bothered just as long as it did the job,but it doesnt even do that!

i will probably look into buying a new one so at least i can start fresh,i hate not knowing what its been used for before.
thankyou for all your help, you have been great michael555
