No -- I haven't tried that since I'm using the builtin boot manager
that VISTA set up and as I said I don't mind seeing the XP files at
this stage.

I must remember to look and see if manually made System Restores are
retained or not.

I think I'll be getting an OEM version...much cheaper than the upgrade
version. I'll use the kids' PC for testing, especially as I just came
across an MS tip for extending the grace period to 120 days

Many here have said it does hide the partitions properly. One reliable
poster gave a fairly detailed primer a few weeks ago.

I wonder why someone who purported to be from the program source said
it does not and asked why we would want to .... ?

Very interesting .... if it works ....

I'm humming and haring between Home premium and Ultimate versions. In
spite of searching, I have not come across a *detailed* breakdown of
the differences to persuade me to part with an extra 50 UK pounds
(about 100 USD).

That is one of the least detailed comparison charts I had come across
<g>.

JW,

I just realised, on re-reading my post that it would appear that I was
being rude to you.

That is *not* the case and I would like to thank you for posting. My
comments were aimed at MSoft.

The chart does not even detail the number of cores/cpus supported by
the various versions.

Cheers,

Guy
