Drink Driving Web Site

Hmmm... at the risk of sounding too sensible here, the site makes a good point. Has anyone seen that advert with two guys in the pub (one guy says "ok, I'll just have one more pint" as a pretty blonde walks in front of the table, which turns into a crash scene)? It's pretty disturbing, but interesting to know how long alcohol stays in the blood.
Personally, if you're going to drink, I think it's best to not drive at all :)

By the way, I'm not speaking from personal experience here, it's just something that I think people should be more aware of ;)

i dont drink anyway... i'll have a can of strongbow at a party but then again most of the time i'd rather have a cup of tea. I know for a fact that i will never drive if ive had so much as a drop of alcohol.

And yes, i probably will be the designated driver...

And Its fact that 7 out of 10 women find DD's sexy

And where did you get that statistic?! I've never really thought about that before...
I'm usually the designated driver among my friends, mainly because I hate being drunk; if I drink (obviously when I'm not about to drive ;)), then I do it because I like the taste... Balvenie on ice being one of my favourites :)

P.S. You're 16 - alcohol should never have passed your lips young man! ;)

Eh? You mean that women find drunk drivers sexy? I find that one a little hard to believe. Most women I know despise drunk drivers and think they're idiots, even my daughter's friends, all aged between 16 & 18.

In a serious vein, I never, ever, drink and drive. I was banned for one year, all of 1984, for drink driving. I had drunk three pints, last one at 10pm, and drove home at 2am. Learnt my lesson.

Also had a huge fine and my insurance doubled. And if I'd killed anybody whilst driving, I could have been charged with manslaughter and jailed. Sobering thoughts eh?

Yes, despite my frivolous first reply, the site linked in the first post is useful, in my opinion. That's why I personally don't mind the guy plugging what is probably his own site.

Its also a fact that 7 out of 10 men find women's DD's sexy ;)

I think most people are starting to realise that drink driving = bad nowadays. Perhaps its because I've been showered with advertising about it on TV over the past 20 years, especially with the new adverts.

I think DD means Designated Driver in this case :) I wouldn't get in a car with anyone who'd had a drink beforehand, perhaps a single glass of wine at the start of the evening and then driving back a few hours later - but no more.

If I was going to have a drink somewhere, I'd just walk/taxi back.

DD = Designated Driver? Oh. I see. Oops.

If I was going to have a drink somewhere, I'd just walk/taxi back.

Me too. Actually, mostly I use the bus, doesn't take long, about a 3 or 4 mile journey, costs a quid, and some interesting people on buses at around midnight :D

I get the bus back quite often too actually, used to be 50p anywhere - now its gone up to £1.30 for a shorter route

Thankfully Weatherspoons is incredibly cheap, so it makes up for it :D

How come this forum changes its posts in to something completely differant!

It's all related mon ami ;)

Just kinda pointing out that less than two quid is better than a driving ban.

Well, it is, innit?

Two pouds is a lot of money!

Isn't it nice to have brits on the web (pounds, towns etc...) so we all know what we are talking about, almost any other site on the web they would have said dollars insted of quid!!!

bus ticket cost to number of brits on the web...

i have a stagecoach gold rider pass. Anywhere in the stagecoach south area FREE!

three hundred and some a year...

need it to get to college... would be over £2 a day otherwise.
