Hello everyone,
here goes one more server for PL2005 download:
www.essentialpim.com/freeware_newsgroup/PL2005CDISO.ISO
That's a dedicated server in US datacenter, so should be fast.

We estimate our bandiwdth will allow us to share the image file to
about 1000 visitors.

have fun!

The .iso is corrupt on your sever. I downloaded it and got (from
dvdsig):
Total:219 OK:190 Bad:18 Missing:9
The operation completed successfully. 208 files, 399MB, 42s

18 bad files and 9 missing. Not good.

FYI,
I downloaded the iso from Maxim's site this morning and seemed to get
the whole thing. Haven't done an md5 sum check but it's the correct (I
think) size, 573 MB.

Please let us know the result of the md5, I've taken the ISO URL offline
but if you confirm all is OK then I'll reinstate the file.
I'm starting a download now to do my own check but if you you report the
file is bad I'll kill it straight away.

No problem, thanks for posting back so quick <BG>
Saves me losing time, I'll stick to checking the others and will start
offering ISO again once I confirm the ISO are OK.

While I thank you for providing the bandwidth
I must report my download was corrupt
Didn't run dvdsig, it was one of the corrupt files.
Most of the files at the root level were.
For instance the readme & graphics files as well.
Don't know if the problem is on my end or yours.
I thank you anyway.

I'll second this. The readme.txt file was totally corrupted.
Programlist.txt was partially corrupt. dvdsig.exe was corrupt. So,
grabbing a copy of dvdsig.exe from it's homepage, I ran it.
Here is the output
"The data is invalid. temp1\dvdsig.md5
Total:2 OK:1 Bad:1 Missing:0
The operation completed successfully. 2 files, 0MB, 0s"

Is the Index.html supposed to be hyperlinks to folder/directories? If
so, then that is broken here as well.

I'm willing to download it again, if these 2 reports are the only
problem ones.

Thanks.

Sounds broken. . . You can download a zip file with the web pages for
the CD here if you want to see what they are supposed to look like:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/ftp/2005PL-CDwebpages.zip

2005PL-CDwebpages.zip 14-Jan-2005 12:34 257k
I'm willing to download it again, if these 2 reports are the only
problem ones.

The situation is unclear - to me at least. . .

I see a couple of reports of sucessful downloads and a couple mentioning
problems. The time frames seem to overlap.

Ashlyn posted that she thought the files she furnished to Maxim were
corrupt and she would see about uploading good ones - I don't see a
follow-up post. Perhaps Maxim can clear that up for us. Were the files
uploaded twice?

IMO one known good download from the *same* set of files is all we need
to be reassured that any problems lie elsewhere. . .

You do need to use HJSplit to verify the MD5 checksum. Additional info here:

Yup that works nicely as do all the .php files. None work on the cd I
burned, nor do they work by loading the iso in Daemon Tools.

I grabbed it at about 2:30 pm pst yesterday.

Checksums do not match, and both the iso and burned cd give Windows
Explorer fits, Program not responding. Into the trash they go.

I'm getting the iso via Bit Torrent now. I'll let you know how it goes
with that one.

I'm back! My hosts will be back up in a few hours, the checks took
longer than expected - but best keep safe.

Maxim has confirmed that the original ISO that he grabbed from me is
solid with Steve's checkfiles.

I've downloaded and confirmed the iso that I'm hosting are solid.

I even do not know now... I am taking off the file for now, not to
confuse anyone. If I can get a working link to the ISO file once more-
I am willing to re-upload again, if anyone interested...

Downloaded fine, thanks Max. - Now that have burnt a CD I find a lot
of *.php files where I might have expected html.

Is there something I should have done?

Nope. That's what you should see. Those are HTML files with .php
extensions.

The autorun file should start the index file that's in the root
directory of the CD: index.html

If it doesn't you can start it manually. The links should work as they
do in the on-line web pages. The only difference is that you won't be
able to sort by clicking on the column headings in the tables.

That sounds like a wise move. Per Ashlyn's post we now know the file on
Maxim's server is good - evidently something went wrong during the
download process.

Thank you.
