Jellow windows is your "selling point" !?
Robert said:Oh *yawn* you're the first person in the world to compare XGL with Aero.
This hasn't been done to death in here before or anything. Bravo.
Longhorn, the early editions of Vista, was perfectly capable of doing that,
in fact was shown doing it in demos long before XGL was able to do it, but
this was taken out of recent versions due to the fact it's a load of useless
eyecandy that adds nothing to the user experience.
Luis said:Yeahh...yawn...no matter how technical these comparisons are, VISTA
CAN'T do IT! Hello - that was the point of the thread!
DUUYYYYYYYY....
Nina said:LOL, so is aero!
Robert said:Indeed. Once the novelty of flip-3d wears off, which is round-about the
second time you try it, you've really got to wonder what the point was.
When will these features be available in Windows - 5 years from now? Next
version or Service Packs?
Nina said:HI Robert.
What gets me is it seems (and I could be wrong) that the aero and flip
3d are some of the biggest features MS is touting about Vista.
Robert said:True. Flip 3D though, whatever I think of it or you think of it, is a
feature. One I'm underwhelmed with, but one that they can point to. I can
see why they'd promote that.
Aero as an overall concept, with transparent window borders etc, isn't
really a feature, it's just part of the OS "skin", and one that reduces
usable screen real-estate and readability of window titles at that :-(
