Do aliens exist???

There's 1 thing for sure, if they do come, they'll invade the USA (they always do in the films) and it'll take Bruce Willis in a dirty vest to handle them if they don't come in peace.
Ah, that's alright then.

You never know, they may change tactics and land on Baffin Island :)

And if the've watched Big Brother, Changing Rooms, those 1 star American "Made for TV" films, I think you'll find that's the reason why they haven't visited.

Personally, I think the Tarrentino flicks would do more to keep aliens at bay then would bad american programming.

As for technology, the US is certainly behind when it comes to consumer technologies. Hell, the mobile phones here are at least 18 months behind what they have in Japan. Not to mention only 20% of households (thank god that includes this one) only have broadband internet. But our military has the best technologies available. There's no disputing that. Just look at the unlimited amount of funds DARPA has at their disposal.

Anyway, while I don't doubt their is other life out there in the Universe, I think its unlikely that any has been technologically advanced enough to reach our planet. The closest life to us in this universe is probably in the form of some single celled creature that has yet to advance to even the most primitive of intelligence.

The chances of A, aliens living in our locality and B, aliens living in our time, are so massively remote that I don't for a second believe we've been visited.

It is, however, supremely arrogant to think Earth is the only planet that can, could or has ever supported life, but that's what thousands of years of religion do to human reasoning. Oooh, God made the entire universe just for us did he? Did he heck, mankind isn't even central to life on this planet never mind the bloody universe. We are a small and insignificant blip on the radar of the universe, but there are those among us that can make a nice cuppa so it's not all bad.
