Links don't work properly (at least here using Mozilla) when they
are enclosed in brackets - you may want to revise this:

Hi Susan,
I've removed the brackets, link should work for Moz users now - I just
tried it with Moz and it works for me :)

Is there any way that you know of to get a carriage return to work at
the wiki page so you can create a list without a space between each
line break?

Looking good Mike. :) I'll confess that I just muddle on through,
check the preview to see if the changes look okay, revise if
necessary. . .

What I learned last night. . .

I see it's already fixed, which is one of the nice things about
wikis. :)

The <delimiters> are fine for plain text, but the wiki has to html-ize
things using tag delimiters it generates itself, and extra delimiters
apparently confuse it.

That's a bit disconcerting. I'm posting from aoie now and will
put it through a few tests.

I have not had any connection issues since using aioe.org and am
always [so far] greeted with a welcoming
"200 aioe.org InterNetNews NNRP server INN 2.4.2 ready (posting
ok)." Whenever I log in.

Although free and requiring no pass or username, aioe will not
tolerate abuse so has a limit of 25 posts per day per IP and a
limit of 10 x- posts to discourage spammers and flooders. No
limits on reading. There must be some other issue as to why Bill
Day has problems getting in and my guess is it must be client
side.
Same here. No problems so far.

a single space at the beginning of the each line will keep the lines
from wrapping:

item l
item 2
item 3

Use three or more dashes (---) if you want to make a solid line.

That pretty much exhausts my store of knowledge. ;)

Thank you Susan. That was exactly what I was hoping for. I also
corrected the URL for x-privat.org website and updated the wiki to
reflect that X-privat has not only the 'news.x-privat.org' server, it
also provides another, 'newsgate.x-privat.org', which the provider
claims is a reflection of NIN. Your onetime registration, pass and
username with X-privat works with either and both. Good just got a
whole lot better :)

I see you put those few tibits of how-to to good use. :)

Agreed. I tried out news.aioe.org last night - haven't gotten to the
others yet. It's *so* nice to have several choices. :)

FYI - a separate bookmark is not needed for the free newsserver web
page. . .

it's listed on the first page of the ACF wiki:

http://www.markcarter.me.uk/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?AcfWiki

and the ACF wiki URL is listed on the first page of the
pricelesswarehome.org web site. . .

and that URL is in my sig file below. . . ;)

Yes, I am thinking that I can say goodbye to NIN (and remain friends)

A shameless plug ;-)

Just kidding. I find myself at the Pricelessware pages more and more
these days, it is an invaluable resource. Not only for software but
links and information.

Thank you very much for introducing me to the wiki concept. I'm finding
that intriguing (the live updating web pages part).

I'm off to read the <http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?WikiGettingStartedFaq>
pages now, seeing as how I'm a newbie. All via the links found at the
first page of the pricelesswarehome.org web site of course :)

Cheers and thanks.

Thanks go to Mark Carter. I think the ACF wiki will become more and more
valuable to ACF participants in the future - it's a great way to create
ACF/Pricelessware related web pages.
