This is a little fiddly,but works!
TOOLS/OPTIONS/ADVANCED/MAINTENANCE/now uncheck first four boxes, close!
go back to Windows Mail/Deleted Items right click and than 'empty
deleted items folder'. After cleaned simply recheck the four boxes.
