Damnit! Outlook 2003 lost my newgroup command...

In configuring Outlook 2003 I added the "news" menu item to the "Go" menu,
then configured the newsgroup reader for my ISP newsgroups. So far so good,
everything worked fine. Today when I started up Outlook the "news" menu
item has disappeared from "Go", and when I try to add it in from the
customize option it is no longer listed under "Commands" for the "Go"
Category, or any category for that matter. WTF? The Help is, not
surprisingly, no help. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Go to IE's tools, options and set OE as the news reader then reset the
toolbars in OL.
