You're probably searching only messages that you have downloaded - and if I
remember correctly, the default setting is for OE to delete read messages
after five days, so you're probably searching only messages that you have
downloaded within the last five days. That's why the archive at
www.google.com/groups is so valuable.

The spammers and script-kiddies have succeeded in making it impossible for
me to use a real e-mail address in public newsgroups. E-mail replies to
this post will be deleted without being read. Any e-mail claiming to be
from brenreyn at indigo dot ie that is not digitally signed by me with a
GlobalSign digital certificate is a forgery and should be deleted without
being read. Follow-up questions should in general be posted to the
newsgroup, but if you have a good reason to send me e-mail, you'll find
a useable e-mail address at the URL above.

In outlook express newsgroups

Dear Andi:

My point was that AlienSmurf might have used the Microsoft web-based
newsgroup reader, and had correctly reported that no hits were found...

I'm sorry but I don't understand the above; forgive me if I am being slow!
you probably didnt know that .groups.google was former DejaNews, then
Deja and now is owned by google.

if you write in the Browser: www.deja.com you make a landing at
google.

i still write the above link, because it's much shorter

I answere to a posting from hermie and not to AlienSmurf, and
therefore I don't know the sex of both I wrote he/she (BTW: this
should mean She/he in case my parents are reading it, that they both
know that i didn't forgot my breeding [ I tought that they are reading
this newsgroup due to age and language])

Anything else I forgot?
