Open the live site directly in FP, then in the _private folder, locate a
file with the name of your page, pagename.htm.cnt, right click, select open
in notepad, then change the number, but do not change the number of digits.

Hi Thomas, I did the repair as you recommended, but this did not fix the
problem. Would you recommend removing FP2000 and re-installing?

Dan,

In general FP will adjust the path to it's components when publishing, since
the structure of your local PC will be different from that of the server you
are publishing to. In most cases this should not be an issue.

However in your case it seem like FP is not able to set the path during
publishing correctly, this could be how you have you local web set up, how
you access them, etc., it could be anything. You might want to try doing a
repair of your current install.

Yes Thomas, that works. Of course inserting the counter "live"on the server
worked when I tried it per Steve's instructions. But that does not answer
the question, why doesn't it work without changing the path/code in FP2000
after it is saved, published and viewed in IE6?

as
the

use That's
it! File
C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/My%20Documents/My%20Webs/ImageLa

Dan,

If everything else is working correctly, forget the FP Hit Counter, get a
3rd Party counter, even better see if your host offers access to your web
stats or provide the ability to download the raw files.

Web stats will give more detail information about your site traffic, such
what pages where view, where the user came from, which page had the most
traffic coming in, which pages users last view when leaving your site, etc,
where as a hit counter just counts the number of times the page has been
loaded into a browser, so if some one goes to your page, and hit the refresh
button 5 times, you get 5 hits, if someone goes from the page with the
counter and then returns, you get another hit.
