LOL. I was wondering myself. If this guy is a troll he's doing a good Gomer
impression. I don't think he is though, he doesn't have the hallmarks of a
true troll.

Seriously, it's easier to replace a noisey fan than to bother lubing
it. Dust doesn't easily get into the bearings of the smaller
CPU/graphics card sized fans and they're certainly not worth the
effort disassembling/reassembling them.

Use silicon spary, I re-lube my fans quite often using silicon spray.

It's the xposting that gives it away and his failure to actually respond to anyone's arguments. If
he were serious, he would have realized his idiocy by now and stopped pursuing it.

If cars had advanced at the same rate as Micr0$oft technology, they'd be
flying by now.
But who wants a car that crashes 8 times a day?

Good points. Thanks. However he started off normally enough (different
thread) with dust problems.

Well as soon as people run out of arguments they start excusing me of
trolling, how typical !

Cleaning the fan is just one step further... opening it... if you know how !

It safes you 10 bucks for buying a new one...

Going to the store probably requires about the same ammount of time
wasted... and besides from that... if you are out of luck the store doesn't
even have new fans like that !

Go figure !

I'm still trying to figure out what you're arguing. Hey, why don't you
boycott fans by taking the one off of your processor right now!

D00d, seriously, if this *ISN'T* a troll...you are by far one of the most retarded mother ****ers on
the entire face of the planet...really.

Just out of curiostiy, how old are you? And again, if you're not trolling I'm hoping to God that
you're under 12, cause otherwise...*shakes head*...that would just be a whole great big MOUNTAIN of
sad.

Do you spray them on the inside as well ? Like the sleave bearing... (metal
pin ? ) which is most important ;)

I use sewing machine oil... very fine oil which is perfect for the job at
hand =D

Ooops now I told a little bit what to do lol....

Skybuck.

Use about 5-7 damped cotton buds , or a wet tissue to clean the dust off the
blades. No need to "open" the fan tough.
After that , peel half-way the sticker on back, and add a drop of good oil
(i use sewing machine oil as well). it's done.

And your point is? The Hatter may indeed be a troll (and a damn good one)
but he doen't do it here, this is one of his 'serious' groups. I'm a
murderer but I don't murder someone every place I go.

You didn't answer his question.

Oh, and no one's "excusing" (sic) you of trolling.

Erm, all it takes is for the card mfr to put in a ball-bearing fan. All your
worries of drying oil will then disappear.

So much for the "crusade".

Ball bearing fans dont need oil and can't get dirty ?

Indeed. The ball-bearing is fully sealed against moisture and contaminants.
The fan will still get dirty, but the dirt buildup won't cause the fan to
slow down or stop moving. Most name-brand CPU and chassis fans (as well as
those inside good PSUs) are ball-bearing.

Q. Why can men run faster than women?
A. Their legs are ball bearing!

It can therefore be said that politics is war without
