This is an interesting thread. I'm looking over my drives to see what
I can come up with. A couple of these might have a .dll file, but none
are install iirc:
A good site to find stand alone programs:

PureText 2.0:
http://www.stevemiller.net/apps/
"Have you ever copied some text from a web page, a word document,
help, etc., and wanted to paste it as simple text into another
application without getting all the formatting from the original
source? PureText makes this simple. Just copy/cut whatever you want to
the clipboard, click on the PureText tray icon, and then paste to any
application. Better yet, you can configure a hot-key to convert and
paste the text for you. The pasted text will be pure and free from
all formatting."
This is a 28k executable that grabs text very neatly!

2Xexplorer:
http://www.netez.com/2xExplorer/
"Lightweight and powerful, fully shell integrated and extremely usable
for increased everyday productivity, 2xExplorer is an ideal dual-pane
replacement for explorer, compatible with all 32-bit windows
platforms."
This is a Norton Commander style file explorer. It runs straight out
of the directory if you do not get the installer file.
The same author has Editor²:
"Editor² is a really small (57KB download) notepad replacement, yet
packed with useful features for productive everyday use. Both
ANSI/Unix and Unicode text files are supported. It features powerful
search and replace commands, Hex and RTF viewer, dual font/color
selection, URL autodetection, lots of keyboard shortcuts plus loads of
handy bits for programmers (brace matching, autoIndent, etc). The
unique AutoText feature makes inserting HTML open/closing tags a
breeze. Editor is one of the richest feature-to-size packages in its
class."
Same URL as above. Small, fast text editor.

Windows 95/98/ME
Complete MSDOS.SYS Reference:
http://www.mdgx.com/msdos.htm#EDI
There is much good info on this page. Leads to:
http://www.mdgx.com/toy.htm#BOO
"Microsoft Windows 98 Resource Kit Boot Editor (BOOTEDIT.EXE) v1.01
32-bit tool for Windows 9x/ME tweaks/backs up most MSDOS.SYS boot
settings [free, unsupported]."
A nice editor that allows you to not load double space and drive space
bin at boot. Can set to allow for a boot menu with many options. 51k
..exe. There are many more tiny utilities that I have not tried yet.

KillAd v0.11
http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/killad.html
"Great popup killer. Add new popups by clicking. The program keeps the
last popup produced, just one click adds it to the list. Also, kill by
window size or by specific pest that gets through; drag a 'targeting
site' to a popup to add it to the kill list. 30k program file! No
registry additions. Written in assembly. Two thumbs up!"

MoveIt v1.1
http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/moveit11.html
"Having a lot of programs on your hard drive is a usual thing today,
but someday such users certainly will face such problem as moving
registered program from one place to another. It is a problem, because
almost every program stores some data into registry (such as used file
paths, for example), and you can't just move program folder from where
it is to another location, because in 90% cases application will not
run correctly anymore."
=====================================================
RunIt v2.0.1b
http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/runit.html
"RUNit is a simple but yet powerful launchpad for Win95/98 and NT(4.0
and above).
RUNit gives you quick access to applications, documents, folders and
shortcuts. Unlike many other launchpads RUNit doesn't occupy any space
on your screen - you only see it when you actually use it.
RUNit defines a "hot area" on your screen where a click of the right
mouse button makes the RUNit launch-menu appear. The "hot area"
can be any border of the screen or even the whole screen.(you have to
hold down the CRTL or SHIFT key while right clicking in "whole screen
mode")"

Zip Indexator v1.2
http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/zipindexator12.html
"It searches all zip files in any directory and looks for information
about each file in numerous files, such as file_id.diz, license.txt,
readme.txt, install.txt, etc. You can add any filename to search, but
most I've ever seen are already listed.
After extracting all info for each file it creates "index.html"
wherever you want it and opens IE to view the results (second photo
below). You can use any browser to view the index; the program is set
to open IE."

ZipScan v1.3b
http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/zipscan.html
"ZipScan is a program that performs a fast file search which includes
looking inside archive files, such as Zip files. This is useful if you
have lots of documents archived in Zip files and need to be able to
search for specific documents. It is also useful when looking for a
particular DLL from a set of CAB installation files, and for Java
programmmers who need to search through their JAR archives. I wrote
this utility because programs such as WinZip do not have a search
facility."
