Just wondering what sort of computers people are running, some people have some devilishly fast super computers around!

Mine:

AMD Duron 750 @ 800 (hehe, puny overclock)
Soltek SL-KAV Motherboard
128 Megs Crucial PC133
Phophetview 720 Monitor
Antec 830 Case
8x Slot DVD
Sony 10x8x32x CDRW
Cannon S4500 Printer
60 Gig Maxtor HD

Athlon 1ghz (OCd to FSB 135 from 100, multiplier dropped to 8x)
Asus A7V
384m PC133 SDRAM
Maxtor 30.7gig 7200rpm HD
nVidia Geforce2
SoundBlaster Live! OEM
Asus 50x CD-ROM
Aopen 12x10x32x CD-RW
NEC MultiSync FE950+ Monitor
Logitech Z-560 Speakers

My plan was to wait for Clawhammer before upgrading, but my machine is starting to feel outdated, so I might upgrade when Barton comes around.

... hey, they work just fine.

What, all of them. :P

#1 "My Baby"
AMD 1500+ CPU (NO Wildone, not OC)
ECS K7S5A-2 Motherboard
512 DDR 2100 Micron Memory
nVidia GeForce 2 MX400 64Mb Soltec (silver) Video card
Sony 17" Trinitron Multiscan 200gs Monitor
Chieftec Dragon DX-01W ATX case
Enermax Active PFC 350W power supply
Lite-On 32x12x40 CD-RW
Acer 52x CDROM Drive
40gig WD 400BB 7200rpm HD
HP PhotoSmart P1000 printer
Agfa SnapScan Scanner
Sony CMR-PC3 WebCam Pro
Labtec 3.1 subwoofer speaker system
An OLD Compaq Scanner Keyboard
Logitech MouseMan Wheel Mouse

:D  :D

NEW motherboard arriving on Monday is the ... MSI6380E KT3 Ultra-ARU and 512Mb DDR PC2700 /333 Winbond memory and a couple of other bits-n-bobs. :P

Not something to write home about, nonetheless here is my system.

Pentium III 667 MHz Processor,
Asus P3V4X Motherboard,
256 MB Transcend PC133 SDRAM,
Matrox Millennium G400 Dual Head 32 MB SGRAM,
Asus 16x DVD/CD-Rom Drive,
Plextor 12x10x32A CD-RW drive,
Creative Audigy,
Seagate Barracuda IV Hard Disk 7200rpm 60GB
Quantum Fireball Plus LM 7200rpm Hard Disk 15GB,
Promise Ultra ATA 100 Controller (all four drives on master)
17" Samsung 700IFT Flat Monitor,
Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro Joystick,
Denko EMI/RFI Sheilded Casing,
HP 840C DeskJet Printer,
Cambridge Soundworks subwoofer settlelite speaker system,
(connected in the rear, for front I use a NAD 3225PE amp and Mission 760iSE Speakers)
US Robotics 56K PCI internal Voice/Fax/Data Modem,
HP 3400 Scanjet Flatbed Scanner
Saltec PowerLink 500 VA UPS with Automatic Voltage Regulator and surge protector

I am certainly not competing with Muchshifter who has a beast of a machine.

I will upgrade soon, MB, Ram, and processor. Most of the other stuff I like to retain as they work fine.

Any suggestions?

Quad

MSI6380 KT3 Ultra motherboard, AMD 1800+ CPU and a stick or two of 2700/333 512gb Ram. :D

But then I read your spec again ... go for the MSI6380E KT3 Ultra-ARU instead, has built-in RAID, you may even find a use for the Audio ;)

Integrated Realtek® ALC650 Chipset (6-channel S/W audio)
Direct Sound AC97 Audio
6-channel analog output
Digital SPDIF interface
Compatible w/ S-bracket

Just kidding ... on the Audio. :P

However, if you want to stick with Intel then I highly recommend the Asus P4B266E includes onboard LAN and 133/IDE RAID Controller.

Mucks

well my soon to be upgraded pc currently stands at:

1.4GHz Athlon - cooled with a Kaine Hedgehog
Asus A7V333 w/raid
1024MB Crucial 2100DDR
IBM 30gig 7200rpm
IBM 75gig 7200rpm
IBM 120gig 7200rpm - as and when I can sort the damn raid out :)
Ricoh 9120a 8xDVD 12xCR-W 10xCR-RW 32xCD
Creative 52x CD-ROM
Creative Live Drive 5.1
Geforce 2 MX 32MB

Hope to get my raid sorted out so I can get the last hdd up and running - then upgrade the Processor to one of the lovely Athlon 2200+XP chips, and get either a geforce 4 4600 of wait for the geforce 5's to come out :) (more money ;))

You shouldn't write it 1700+ @ 1650...makes it sound like an underclock. ;)

Wildone,

How is the Samsung 16X DVD? I use the Asus 16X and found it to be a great ripper.

The Samsung is a great DVD ripper, but not the greatest audio ripper.

You rip a lot of DVD's? Which software you are using?

Well no ,I have only ripped one and it was just to benchmark my PC.It did'nt take to long really, probably two hours all together, and I think I used DVD-xcopy to do it.
