computer shuts down when video convrsion program runs

Overheating problems normaly give you some kind of warning...Beeps when pc is getting ready to shut down etc....

Nope, nothing like that. No beeps, no warnings at all. One second it's running and (literally) the next second it's shut off.

Ok I have to say the first post differs somewhat to the later.
I have read this thread through every word.
So have come to a conclusion without seeing the PC in the flesh so to speak.
Have you or will you please do the following> First and foremost>Replace the PSU as with the power supply you WILL NOT get a warning of shutdown only at boot-up? Then Reseat the CPU if your not happy with the instalation. uninstall all progams you have for avi to mp4; DVD Shrink then reinstall One at a time? Have you done what Madxgraphics has suggested Event LOG file if not do that first. The answer lies within somewhere??

It's the CPU overheating. I had both Core Temp & Speed Fan running while I was encoding some video with Videora, and the core temp kept rising and rising until at about 80 degrees centigrate the computer shut down.

Hi,

Yep that is definitely overheating by the sounds of it. Do what Itsme has suggest that you need to reseat the CPU and heat sink, I recommend reapplying the cooling paste remove old the old paste first then apply the new stuff. If the problems still continue after you have done that then the problem could be with other hardware. Let us know how you get on.
