just to clean out the pc because its a little dusty

little dusty or REALLY REALLY Dusty??

:)

put your pc under the tap
it should sort it out for life lol :)

p.s dont forget to use Fairy Liquid.....:)

You might be able to get some compressed air from B&Q too - I've got a can from a while ago that I occasionally blast my PC with :)

washing up liquid and water sounds a little strange to mix water with electrical equipment but i will give it a try.

also would i need a sponge or something like a brilo pad?

thanbs for your help, why waste money on a can of compressed air when i already have the tools needed.

Thanks

Toothbrushes are good for the little nooks and crannies that are hard to get to with your average sponge/cloth... Bleach is good for stains etc etc...

Hope this helps

your welcome lol :)

well there is always a way to seceretly find out if one uses fairy liquid as apposed to the cheap tesco's or sainsburys versions!

good to hear you are a regular user of fairy
i use it quite regulary here, i think it works well with lukewarm water :)

but i woulndt reccomend brillo, that may just may cause some irrepairable damage, deep internal worry and above all it will cost u DEARLY!:)

...and don't forget Hoover makes good dryers too :D

No your not going to do that are you...:p

Very naughty of you Quad and PSD99 smacked wrists and shame on you..LOL:D

I suggest sticking with the can of compressed Air Stuartw101..

i will let you know how it goes, cant weight to have a gleaming new pc :) im off not wo phone acer and give them an earful as my pc isnt hear when they said it would be!

Actually, I would NEVER use compressed air ... a vacuum cleaner, yes ... distilled water, yes, but no Fairy Liquid.

Using a vacuum cleaner, carefully, will stop all the dust getting into the ‘moving’ parts … distilled water is good for keyboard spills, just ‘rinse’ 3-4 times and leave to dry … but make sure it is dry.

;)

so your saying i shouldn't use washing up liquid and a brillo pad on the motherboard or any of the hardware inside of the pc? i thought it was a good idea ;)

phoned acer and suprise, suprise the f*cking answerphone, what is with them? sorry for the language :(

yes def use washing up liquid
but make sure its FAIRY
that cheap stuff isnt worth it!

acer = crap support! im a bit worried cuz i got myself a tft last week and its acer!

managed to get through to them, just kept rining every few minutes. Basically asked where pc was they said was delay over weekend so will get tomorow and he apologised for it. I then spoke to him about the £30 and explained they suggested i sent it to be repaired not me and that they didnt explain that it would cost me to get it back if there is no fault. The mani asked someone then came back to me and said it looks like the person who i spoke to didnt fill in the appropriate forms or signed them etc and that because the man didnt tell me about the charge he wasnt following their procedures. He went onto say he will email me their returns terms and conditions and have said i will only need to pay for the collection which is £15. I basically replied "well if im within my right not to pay any of it then i will look into it" he basically wanted me to pay the £15 but i didnt back down and finally said that i could phone them back and speak about it further it i wanted. It was close to 5pm so he obviously wanted to finish work so i left it there.

Round 1 to the customer! Basically they have admitted 2 mistakes, not filling in forms properly and that they didnt inform me of the potentia cost of delivery if the product isnt faulty. I think i can manage to cancel the £15 although why would he still say i pay the collection charge? if they didnt tell me about the cost why cancel the delivery back to me and not collection?

What you think? I need some ammo!

honestly though do you think i will be able to get them to cancel the £15 left as they have already said i dont have to pay the £30?

What i am saying is they have made mistakes and if they have cancelled the £15 for delivery why would they still think they could charge me for collection?

Any ideas, please?

Twice the distance from the middle to the end:p

I don't use cans of compressed air myself, maybe it's me but I consider them to be a waste of money and you're just blowing the dust somewhere else.

I always use a clean 1" (25mm) paintbrush and a vacum cleaner. Then for cleaning the case floor/internal case walls, a clean cloth with a little meths in it.

Having to do it once a week now as I removed the front mesh grill and cage from my case to enable better cooling from the front fans, it actually dropped case temp by 2C, so worth putting up with, imo.
