I am sorry you get caught in all this. it happens sometimes here... Its
perhaps the side effect of being one of the most active and vibrant
newsroups. However be assured there is no ill-will, at least not on my side.
I wish everybody well.

Its nothing of the sort, its because you were once more giving completly
incorrect advice and challenging anyone who dared contradict you......Ill-Will
??? on about people health condition again are we........one expression fits,
"You Must Try Harder"

Hello there,

As with all things if you have the right equipment its easy. I recently
converted three VHS tapes to DV-AVI and was very pleased with the results...I
could see no loss in quality at all. I did it by taking the feed from my
Panasonix VHS camera as SVHS and plugged that directly into my Digital Video
Camera. I took the feed from that camera via firewire and the rest is history.
Before any one tells you that its not possible...DV-AVI is just a description
of a standard...so many KB/s at a given colour depth and frame size....the data
it contains is of course another matter. If you can at all avoid it you should
not compress your video to SVCD.....you immediately downgrade the quality of
the image from your VHS tape.
