Grant: I'm 70 years old and am not having a problem with Vista Ultimate.
Please don't use your age as an excuse for not being able to do things. You
get used to using Vista the same way you got used to using Win XP. Being 70
is not a reason to beg for help, why not just say you have a problem and
need to figure out how to solve it. For what it's worth, I just got back
from a nice ride on my motorcycle, I build and maintain my own computers, I
play video games on my PS2, drive a 2005 Nissan Maxima with a 265HP V6 and
will engage in an occasional stop light grand prix with some young pup who
thinks the old man can't cut it. I ain't ready for the nursing home yet.

I have to admit, I wouldn't recommend it to my 80-year-old mother-in-law.
(I'm even skittish about giving it to my teenage kids, who have been bugging
me about it for months).

A 12 yr old PC? Running fine?

What is it? A Pentium 66MHz? Running Windows 3.11? I doubt it is running
anyway that could be considered useful in this day and age. Or were you just
blagging it?

Use DataEase and Wordperfect 5 a lot?
