CD-burner program

It hasn't nagged me and I've been using it for 2 months. It says on
the site 'free for non profit use' that's not nagware. I recommend it
highly.

This is what pops up on mine (version 3.0.1.43):

"Your 30 days evaluation period has expired. If you wish to continue
using CDCheck you must agree with the following terms, otherwise
please uninstall this software.

-------------------------------------------------------
1. Personal users
-------------------------------------------------------
NON-PROFIT use in the following text means no profit is made
directly or indirectly with data (files) being checked, compared,
recovered etc.

(A) NON-PROFIT USE
You can use this software free of charge.

This message appears once per month to remind you of the
terms you accepted in case that during this period of time
your use has changed."

with an "I agree" and an "uninstall" button at the bottom. It says right
in the message it pops up a reminder once per month. Sounds like nagware
to me. Maybe you have an earlier version before it became nagware.

I was going to suggest using CDCheck (http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/) after
burning to ensure a good burn, but I see now that it is NAGWARE! So I can't
recommend it, but does anyone know of a truely freeware program that does
the same thing?

I've uploaded CDCheck3.0.0.27.zip to alt.binaries.freeware

Well, I took a look at CD Speed, but it doesn't appear to do, in any way,
what CDCheck does. For instance, I see no way in CD Speed to compare the
files on the CD with the originals on disk and get a report of the files
that don't match. The manual makes no mention (that I can see) of this
ability either.

But since you say it does this, would you mind pointing out in some
detail where within the program this can be done?

not sure if this is my bad or not, but I wasn't recommending this as a file
comparison tool...

in the post you replied to (from Ed Wood) the poster stated that winzip was
reporting that the archives he had written were corrupt.

As far as I'm aware, CD speed won't compare the files, but it does some
checking of the files (ala CD Check) as well as some further
diagnostics/reporting, and it is freeware.

It was recommended to me (via this group) when I was having some trouble
with my burner/software, and I've only used a small portion of it's
functionality so unfortunately I can't tell you too much more about it

regardless, it's not a bad tool to have in your kit...
