Hi All,

This seems to be a very common problem. Mine is similar...
IE6 cannot access any sites at all. However, I have 3 other browsers
installed which all work perfectly; Firefox, Opera and Netscape. I have tried
repairing it, re-installing XP (I hate doing that), and also re-installing a
completely new copy from my new ISP. No, it didn't work with my old ISP (AOL)
either. So, as I am online, it is a 'simple' case that IE cannot 'see' my
internet connection. Its as easy as that!! :-)
Frank, I have tried your suggestions of re-naming the 'hosts' file, flushing
DNS and deleting TIF's but so far, no success. do you have any other
suggestions please?

Many thanks,

IBM clone
XP Pro
IE6
2Mb broadband

I'm having a similar problem also. I can get the website on my laptop, but
the site will not come up on my desktop. I contacted the website, but no
response. The page tries to load but takes too long because I have DSL at
the highest speed. The page will load the heading but not the home page. The
site is www.enterpise.com. I went to the help and support center and found a
solution but I'm comfortable doing the procedure. I have Win xp home ed with
sp2. I can get any other sites except this one I need often. Please advise!!

Perhaps it would help if you used a different spelling
at the same IP address? <w>

Note that there are two canonical names and the alias that you gave
which all resolve to the same IP address.

What procedure? Why?

I tried http://enterprise.com/ and got redirected here:

http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/home.do

What do you mean by "load the heading but not the home page"?
I was expecting to see a site constructed using a frameset
but this page is a plain HTML document (though it doesn't
completely validate as HTML 4.01 Transitional--63 errors):

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/home.do
