can't release ip

yes i have tired and didn't work. My xp computer has no problem connectting
to modem just the vista computer but the vista worked when i brought it to
school

1. Click on Start button.
2. Type Cmd in the Start Search text box.
3. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run the Command
Prompt as Administrator. Allow the elevation request.
4. Type

netsh int ip reset

in the Command window, and then press the Enter key.
5. Restart the computer.

i did that and it said a reboot was required so i rebooted and still nothing

And you were definitely able to connect from your school and browse
the Internet?

The only thing that has not been tried is forcing the adapter to 100
megs as opposed to autosense. Can you tell me the exact model of
your Motorola modem.

thanks for the update.

Guys... I installed a new network card & everything works fine now.
Seems Vista doesn't like the onboard one
