Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix ... DO NOT RUN YET


Again, reboot into Safe Mode ...

Re run VundoFix.exe as before, save the log

then ... in safe mode

Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.

Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.

Press any Key and it will restart the PC.

When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.

Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).

Now run the last program.

When it is done there will be a file called awf.txt on your desktop.

Please post the contents of that file and the other log files + another HJT log

Post each log in a new post to keep them seperate ... easier for me to read then. ;)

I would still like to find that one ... it's part of another backdoor Trojan, as before, we have neutrilized it, I hope, but there is a pointer in the registry somewhere. As far as I can see, it ain't running ... but, I don't take chances with these buggers. The thing may be cloaked and not visible, I hope not.

Editing the registry is something I do not normally ask people to do ... one slip and you can feckitup good & proper. So ...

... do not worry about it being a Beta program, it's a good program, I use it offten to initially help me know the PC is infected in the first place.

CCleaner has a Registry cleaner, run it, anything it finds, get it to delete them. Look for the "issues" tab in the program. It is also worth running the cleaning part of the program anyway ... do not alter any default settings.

SBS&D ... another, malware scanner, but you never know, it may help us also.

I'm starting to clutch at straws again ... but I may think of some more we can call on later. :D

Before I run CC or SBS I wanted to let you know I've finished the Spyware Doc. scan. However, like you said it's not free. So, I can't delete the viruses it found 322 OMG and I can't post a log for you so is there something you want me to do.

Oh, and if I have to go into the Registry, I will I've done a little in it.

ZenoZatch, if you ran CC & SBS&D, especially CC ... Spyware Doctor would not have found so many instances of nasties. Most of what it found were probably benign cookies & such.

Messing in the Registry is fine, providing we know what we are looking for ... not that easy with these buggers.

Doing a search in the Registry for 'msdpsv' is worth a try, but I do not think you will find it ... as you saw in the SDFix log, stuff was found & deleted that was not showing in HJT. msdpsv.exe has been eliminated, however, something else is looking for it, to run it. ;)

Your PC is in, what I call, a high risk enviornment, children have access to it, need I say more. :D

It is up to you, but it is worth buying Spyware Doctor ... it is also worth buying Kaspersky Internet Security ... run these two in conjunction with Windows Defender, CCleaner, SBS&D AND SpywareBlaster ... the latter 3 as & when they are needed, once a week scans ... learn how to use these programs.

Up to you ZenoZatch. Heed all of muckshifters advice and you'll be safer :). He can't do anything about your kids though, so you'll have to deal with them yourself ;)
 
Best thing to do with the kids is get an old pc for them . Give them advice on security . Let them ignore it and mess up the pc . Then just say google to them when they want it fixed and smile sweetly . After the taers are over you'll have security concious kids or kids that don't want to mess with pc's .
