Ahem!! I shall have to find his bio to figure that one out.
Aha....found it. Good grief, Charlie Brown.....you are my age!!
L'homme ancienne!!

Mostly 50's, Elvis, Julio, Ruth Brown (obscure), etc.....basically
all but classical.

My brother, a Doctor of Music, writes symphonies and operas. I have to
listen occasionally.
What was the name of that Peter Sellers movie again?? Where he
played an East Indian and was at a party where there was a swimming
pool. Must hit Block Buster for that one.

That would be "The Party." http://imdb.com/title/tt0063415/
Cheers....Heather Listening to *At Last* by Etta James.

Ahh, Etta ...

True......35 myself.

Yuck!! Oddball thought here.....my sister is a Professor of English and she
can't spell worth a dam. Perhaps your brother is fooling you? (G)

Thanks, pussycat.....I must rent that. I keep thinking he posed as a doctor
or some such.
Ahh, Etta ...

Celine did a good job on that song and I started d/l'ing Etta's
songs......she is good.
And what did you do with her when you found her.....hmmm??

.. I'm allowing people to post .bmp., .gif and .jpg.

Since .bmp's are such huge files, is that a wise choice? Wouldn't it
be better to drop .bmp and add .png? ;-)
Our local church emails material for its newsletter between
contributors and editors as TIFF.
Ah, well, at least there's no data loss...

<lol> Don't think I've seen that one, and you're right about Dr No with
who I regard as the proper James Bond <g>

Hi All.....

Just got the following query from a British genealogist friend who has set
up a website. I am not up on photo viruses.......and I realize that people
can change the extension, of course......but what are your thoughts??

quote........
Do you know what virus risks are involved in people sending images to my
Genealogy Forum? I'm allowing people to post .bmp., .gif and .jpg. These
aren't executables, but ... Any thoughts?

Thanks.....Heather

As long
as you keep windows up to date with the latest patches you are safe.

not to mention AV software and a bunch of memory resident spyware programs.
Unless Microsoft finds a way to streamline this humongous operating system
they've created, we're all going to need a minimum of 1 gig memory to run
all our resident security software and open graphic intensive multi-media
utilities at the same time.

If Microsoft were on the ball, they would bundle a phenomenal AV program
with the op system, and charge for the upgrades, and guaranteeing quick
customer support at the same time for info on every possible virus and
piece of malware/sypware. They could quickly swat the competition and
create some goodwill at the same time.

Isn't everyone amazed that they're quick to impose their browser, mail
programs, and Office suite, yet haven't issued a topnotch anti-virus
program? With the amount of staff they have, how hard could it be? I'm
finding their Anti-spyware program is a much smaller drain on memory than
Spy Sweeper (approximately half the memory usage).

Rediculous - and anti-competition. Besides - Antivirus companies do a
better job.

No one can offer this as no product can offer protection against
_every_ ''possible virus and piece of malware/spyware''
They could quickly swat the competition

And you think that this is a good thing?

Quick???? ha ha ha.

Ok, it is clear that you have no concept how sophisticated antivirus
software development is and the fickle nature of the market.

News flash - they didn't develop this. Giant Software did. They just
bought them and rebadged their software.
