Can I put a gfx 240 with an i7?

Hi,

Would my PC run if I put a nvidia gfx 240 1gb with an i7 2.8ghz?

I know gfx card is bad but I can always upgrade in future.

Thanks

I see no reason why not, though you haven't given us much to go on.

You have an i7 chip so its a new/newish system, so the chances are its got a PCI-E slot. and it wont take a huge amount of power.

Give us some more info about the system to be sure. :)

Oh god....

Sorry but PC's and Ebay are NOT a good match.. IMO.

Lets start again.

How much are you looking to spend on a PC and what do you need it to do? Do you need a monitor, mouse and keyboard etc?

We keep our returns policy simple to help our buyers.

We will accept the return of any item bought from our store for any reason within 7 days of the item been delivered to you.

* not often anything will go wrong in first 7days anyway!!!

All we ask is you return the item is the same new condition it was delivered to you and the return postage cost is paid by the buyer.

*So when things go wrong are you willing to cough up the entire return postage?

Stay away from Ebay for a computer unless u live round the corner from the seller. You have been warned twice now!!

If you can afford £566 the build one yourself do a little more research and shopping around. A lot of places do a motherboard/memory/cpu bundle for less than £150

Well yes the seller looks ok, but the Pc is not all that.

Generic PSU, Case, Cheap RAM, and that motherboard offers no upgrade path what so ever...

So again, what is your budget all in, for monitor and everything?

like £700, i have a 22" lcd and can get os. for about £100, so like £600. I really want an i7 ;(

also may i state clicking on returns:

All our new items come with a minimum of 12 months return to base warranty unless otherwise stated on the item listing.

Items returned within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced in the event of them becoming faulty.

our policies do not affect your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the UK Distance Selling Regulations."

Actually their advice is worth listening to & if you dont take it, it's up to you!!!
Have a look in Micromart mag out every Thursday for cheap deals.

Buying a computer from Ebay is like going on the SAW ride at Thorpe Park without a safety restraint.

Not good.

Ok, third bit of advice saying buying a computer from Ebay is a risky business.

Best online supplier that I'm aware of is Novatech. Also worth checking out are Overclockers.co.uk.

And Aria; E-Buyer; Kustom PC's and Chillblast.

Not Ebay.

Ebay bad.

Ebay big bad medicine.

Ebay like a great big steaming pile of dog poo.

Get my gist? :)

i was looking at novatech, what ends up cheaper to finish, motherboard bundle, or barebone bundle?

Thanks.

Barebone bundle is probably more economical as long as you feel confident enough to put the rest of it together.

If you're not sure, lots of help available here.

Hey listen, you'd really be better off not buying a machine form Ebay, we only trying to stop you getting a bad deal.

I understand, but how does he get such good ratings if his pc's are bad?

ok ok, what can i get for £600 just for the computer box, i'll cover the monitor and os system.

Nothing like selling to the technically ignorant to make a quick buck.

You seem to be quite defensive towards him.... Why so?
