Buying Domain names

I'm with the UK2 brigade. Got several dozen domains with them and have found them the easiest to setup and maintain.

The charges may not be quite as cheap as some of the others listed below, but they're not far off the mark.

I wouldn't mind some advice here, I'm a bit of a fickie when it comes to this stuff :o

All I want to do is register a name - I've checked and it hasn't gone yet - then point it to another site.

I've looked at 123reg, is the one I want 'Register from £2.59 a year'?

Do I get a control panel with that where I can direct?

TIA :D

Yes you should ... but I do not know about 123 ... at my LCN (LowCostNames) I log-in and just re-point to the new host.

Most registrars should allow you to "redirect" the DNS to a Host of your choice. :thumb:

Thanks from me also, Domain names in NZ cost a fortune so at the moment I've got a .tk name (paid of course, the free ones come with a pop-up add for .tk) but will definitely be checking around when that expires later this year. Need to check out hosting as well, at the moment my website itself is my original geocities one (please don't cringe tooooo hard), wanna find a good, cheap host, needles to say, hosting over here is on the expensive side as well. John pays a fortune for his. Reckon I'll keep a copy of this thread.
