Mailinator.com is faster than BugMeNot for sites that need
an e-mail address, because you don't have to visit
Mailinator.com first. With BugMeNot, you have to go their
first just to get the login details -- not so with
Mailinator.com, because you make up an address while at the
site that is asking for one, and then go straight on in
after entering it.

It isn't about making up a throwaway email address. Many
sites require detailed information - name, address, age,
household income, etc. Sure, you can give false information
- but you still have to fill in all the required fields and
might have to wait for an emailed password.

BugMeNot provides a working account and password that
thousands of people are using successfully. It gives no
personal information and doesn't require you to supply an
email address, even a fake one.

The firefox extension for BugmeNot has improved and now automatically
pastes the password and username into the site you are on.
