BSOD and boot issues

There is data I need to recover, I have ordered myself a new hard
drive and am going to start fresh. Then hook up the old drive as a
slave and copy my data over, fingers crossed. I had been planning to
stick a new drive in anyway so its no biggie. I hate starting again
though.

My computer has no make or model, I built her myself.

Here is the spec, mostly.

1.00 324780 Asus P5B-V, G965, Socket-775, ATX, VGA,
GbLAN, SATAII, DDR2, Firew, 2xPCI-Ex16
1.00 312054 Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5
Kit w/two matched CM2X1024A-6400 Dimm's
1.00 338713 Point of View GeForce 8400GS 512MB DDR2,
PCI-Express, DVI/HDCP/Tv-Out
1.00 327715 Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2
16MB 7200RPM

I am indeed aware that it might not work. But I was planning on
getting a new drive anyway so its worth a go.

I am able to access BIOS.

Is the hard drive recognised in the BIOS?

Hope this helps.

It is indeed recognised in BIOS.

I have a friend burning that UTIL to CD for me, so hopefully I will
run that tonight or tomorrow and have an answer.
