Vulcan ?

Anyone recommend a good browser?
I have tried Opera but this did could not access some pages that IE could.
Tried MyIE (Maxthon) ....not as good as the earlier version. It kept closing
unexpectedly.
I 'd rather try a browser that is recommended by someone who actually uses
it.

Thanks,

Vulcan I

I've been using Firefox since early this year, and it's been working
very well for me.

Highly recommended.

Depends on the features you are looking for.

If you're browser-less right now and very patient, try Firefox. It takes a
lot of work to install it and cobble together a good feature set, but you
will be rewarded.

If you're impatient, Slim, Green, and Maxthon are the easiest to set up and
have a strong feature set right out of the box.

Note: I'm using the latest version of Maxthon, and it's very stable.

Hi Bob

Thanks for that. I had updated MyIe to Maxthon but had no end of problems
with it. It kept closing down each time I clicked on a new link!!
Hence my search for migration to something else.

For me, Firefox 0.8 worked "right out of the box", no added extensions. Maybe it's
the feature set I needed and the websites I go to, but it was very easy to set up.
I used the executable form.

What does "add bookmark" do? (that Firefox doesen't already do?)

I think he probably means the "add bookmark here" extension. When you click
on the bookmarks menu, or in any folder within it, the option to "add
bookmark here" is added, allowing you to add a bookmark directly to any
folder without using the bookmark manager or cutting & pasting later.

I've been playing with extensions this morning, I've got External
Application Buttons; Tabbrowser Extensions; Highlight Unread Tab; Tab
Numbering; Bookmarks LinkChecker; x (paranoia); Super DragAndGo; TinyUrl
Creator; Nuke Anything; Always Remember Password; BugMeNot; Copy URL+;
Bandwidth Tester; Bookmark Backup; Add Bookmark Here; Toolbar Enhancements;
Download Tweak; ImageZoomer...wasted all morning, I have :-D

With so many extensions, you better add the extension "Embuttons" to help
you sort your extensions and provide a one click access to your extension
manager.
