I suppose it is possible there is a bug in the mixmin.net server
that added a spurious References field. Sorry if the tone of my
message sounded harsher than it really was

I use Agent as my client; one of the best or might say the only one

Mozilla-based software can also post to the Usenet.
It's fairly decent, IMHO.
