Having your printer not listed on the box is not necessarily a bad
thing, or something worth arguing over. I'm looking right now at a new
G&G (brand) cartridge box that doesn't list my printers. The important
thing to look for is the cartridge number, model or type. For example,
my printers require "BCI-6" type cartridges. This information is clearly
labeled on the G&G box that it is a "BCI-6" cartridge - obviously of the
right type for my printer. Space often doesn't permit the listing of the
dozens of printers that a particular cartridge may be good for.

I think you are totally correct.
It may very well have been OK but they didn't do anything to help me
find out. The told me to contact the manufacturer (Arrow). They gave
me an email address that didn't work.

Just what did you expect
Having said that however, my biggest problem was their attitude.

I found the same thing
I
simply asked if they would send me what I ordered.

I just asked them what they are selling
I had ordered a set
of three cartridges (yellow, magenta, cyan). It came as a set but they
sent me two of one type and one of another. Doesn't sound like a set
to me.

When I asked them if they could replace it with the same type as the
others they said they couldn't and that I should return the entire
order for a refund. They would not refund shipping which didn't seem
at all fair.

It was not fair
Besides I didn't want to return the entire order. When I
told them I only was looking to have that one cartridge replaced or
refunded they told me that out of 2500 orders I was the ONLY person who
had complained (they capitalized ONLY).

If you believe that then I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I would like
to sell you
They said they were "bending
over backwards" and if they went any further "they would break".

Wishfull thinking

Jane,
You are quite rude on this one. You must be one of those vicious people.
As Taliesyn commented, you must be in that < 0.1% (that's 1/10th of 1%)
crowd

That is not true. I think she has a right to express her opinion. Now
who do you work for.

That is not a brand. Who is the mfg/formulator

Now who do you work for.

I am working for nobody. As said, I am just a customer who buys ink stuff
from Aloftofthings.
I discovered Aloftofthings.com from this NG a few years ago.
Again, Jane entitled to express her own opinion but it would be nice not to
mean to destroy the company.
Take it easy. Don't be too aggressive just for a few nickels and dimes.
Craig.

I think alotofthings.com did a great job. They cut thier losses and
stoped dealing with 2 compainers. Keep up the great work
alotofthings.com. You have gained a new customer, I love your prices.

I'll be buy from them off of eBay, great feedback score...thier product
must be amazing.

Sensible adults will find it difficult for one or two people to destroy
a company. However, if that continues to be a trend then enough said.
Take it easy. Don't be too aggressive just for a few nickels and dimes.

Why not. Someone has to keep the industry honest and that appears to be
a job for more than one person.

Respectfully you were not clear at all.

1. What printer do you have? Which Canon do you have?
2. What did you order form alotofthings?
3. What did you get?

Without this information there is no way anyone can provide assistance
or be aware of your issue with alotofthings.com

When I asked them if they could replace it with the same type as the
others they said they couldn't and that I should return the entire
order for a refund.

Did you order from the clearance section? The "Arrow/SkyHorse"?

They would not refund shipping which didn't seem
at all fair. Besides I didn't want to return the entire order. When I

Not refunding shipping is fair, we as the consumer have to make a
choice whether to do business with such people. I buy from newegg and
accept the fact that I pay for shipping for returns, the savings is
more than enough to justify that expects.

There are businesses which will offer free shipping for returns, they
are harder to find on this level.

Now, you are again not being clear, from your description it *sounds*
like you got two cyan and a yellow and no maganta, or two yellows and
one magenta, when I think you got Arrow and Skyhorse, which to quote
the site

"We are discontinuing ArrowJet & Skyhorse from our line due to the
continuing problems we have actually receiving inventory. In some cases
we can be without certain cartridges for months. -- In the next couple
of weeks this category will fluctuate as we have offered to buy back
from resellers their remaining inventory since we will not be capable
of supplying them with further inventory."

If you ordered "Skyhorse" or if you ordered "Arrow" and got what you
didn't order, your complaint would be valid. But based on this new
information, I think you got exactly what you ordered. And while your
request for the same brand is reasonable, I don't think they have any.
This merchandise is being offered as a closeout deal where supply is
limited to their stock on hand, and they don't plan to get anymore.

Near as i'm aware Arrow and Skyhorse are made by the same people, and
filled with the same ink. I'd have to check this fact. But
regardless, there probally is no way they could accomidate your request
because as they said they have supply problems hince the closeout
prices, they don't have it and can't get it. The best they can do is
refund your money. Your complaint would be reasonable if you ordered
one thing and got another, but if you ordered Arrow/Skyhorse and got
Arrow and Skyhorse, you got exactly what you ordered.

But please, for the sake of our understanding

1. What printer do you have? Which Canon do you have?
2. What did you order form alotofthings?
3. What did you get?

Right, if the printer box doesn't list the
specific cartridge, maybe it is a new cartridge.
If the cartridge doesn't list the printer, maybe
they just list the equivalent manufacturers
number. Things change, printers and cartridges
are dropped, new printers and cartridges appear
and often there is no cross-reference.

I've ordered from Alotofthings twice, a refill kit
for my HP970 and a refill kit for my Canon iP4000.
Both orders were filled promptly and correctly.
Bad things happen, and Alotofthings apparently
had a problem with leaking bottles from a new
supplier. They included information, a warning to
watch for leakage, and a statement that they would
resend any than leaked. None of mine did.

If I received a substitute cartridge, I would
call, and receiving the information that Jane got,
I would try it for fit and printing, not
immediately send it back or try to get another
when they told me that they had to substitute to
fill the order.

But I have to admit that I would be a bit pissed
if I received a substitute with no advance notice
and then wasn't refunded the mailing cost. But
many mail order companies demand that you pay
mailing cost at least one way for a returned item.

That's the thing, the brand she said she got as a substitute was Arrow,
which sugests she ordered Skyhorse/Arrow, a brand which is stated on
their website they are closing out due to supply problems.

That is the problem. They change suppliers and you never know who or
when cause they won't tell you. Not much consistency. That coupled
with being rude. Hell stay with Canon.

Oh yeah. You spend $5,000 for new carpet and they will send a new bottle.

ahh ha ha ha ha now that is a real joke
None of mine did.

Thats right and I do not do buiness with them. There are too many that
you do not have to.

measekite said <snipped per request>:

It's true, alot of things did change suppliers, but it's painfully
clear on the website that they are no longer going to carry
Arrow/Skyhorse. They stated supply problems and were selling their
remaining supply at a 60% discount. This seems reasonable to me, no
grand conspiracy here dude.

Your thesis is these people won't tell you want's going on, and it's
painfully clear in black and white. Now if canon were to change
suppliers, they wouldn't tell you. Alotofthings clearly does, so in
Measekite land they are the perfect aftermarket company to do business
with, because they will tell you if they change suppliers.

If you wanted something NOT on closeout, you can buy G&G, MMC, Nectron,
or Procolor.

As far as your carpets... you are obsessed because one man in this
group had an HP which leaked on his carpet.. It's rather because the
ink's waste pad was overfull and had NOTHING to do with aftermarket
ink. IIRC we don't know if it was an OEM ink spill or an aftermarket
one. No grand conspiracy here dude. OEM ink would stain your carpet
just as well as aftermarket, and some cases even better.

Har. Har. I finally read one of your stupid
comments.

Just to show how stupid: The bottles come in
ziplock plastic bags so that even if a bottle
leaked it wouldn't get on the carpet, unless you
are stupid and leave the bottles out of the
plastic bags.

It was a warning to be careful and watchful. I'll
bet Canon doesn't warn you that the printer might
topple to the floor and crush your foot. Bad
Canon, bad, bad Canon, and HP, Epson, book
sellers, hell bad everybody that sells something
that weighs over 2 pounds.

You see, this is where you lack honesty, integrity, and any sense of
fair play. Also, you got into trouble changing other people's posts to
change what they say. I snipped all of what you said because there are
those who don't wish to listen to your diatribe.

"Arrow SkyHorse (CLEARANCE)
We are discontinuing ArrowJet & Skyhorse from our line due to the
continuing problems we have actually receiving inventory. In some cases

You say that buying from companies who don't disclose what they are
selling or when they change suppliers is a bad idea. But
alotofthings.com discloses this information. Furthermore for prefilled
cartridges they are sold in their retail box. This company meets and
exceeds Measekete's requirements for an acceptable aftermarket ink
seller.

Did they ditch this brand? Certainly. Did they make it clear they
ditched the brand? Certainly. Are they a good website to purchace
from because they disclose little facts others could care less about?
Certainly.

I don't know of anyone dumb enough to, let's say, open a can of welch's
frozen concentrated grape juice over a carpet. That's pretty foolish.
I wouldn't open canon OEM ink over a carpet, let alone a bottle of bulk
ink. But bulk ink is typicaly shipped in a sealed plastic bag, so in
the unlikely event of leakage it's contained. So is canon OEM ink.

So what you're saying is Measekite is about to call the opening up of
grape juice containers (and like) as "messy" and "a pain in the ass" and
advocate only the use of hermetically sealed sip boxes with catch basins
for the common-sense-challenged individuals among us who insist on doing
risky operations over their carpets.

You know, i'm not sure what Measekite would reccomend. It could be OEM
grape juice because you have NO idea what they put in Welch's grape
juice. I mean I doubt it would help your carpets but I wouldn't put it
past Measekite to believe knowing where the grapes came from would help
in the carpet cleaning. Or perhaps frozen concentrated grape juice is
the center of some conspiracy.

Has Wilhelms done any light fastness tests on the various carpets to see
which will retain ink, grape, cranberry or tomato juice the longest in
case some klutz decides to "live dangerously". Perhaps refilling isn't
this person's biggest problem; commonsense is.
