XP Home doesn't include EFS, does it?

I don't know. I'm running XP Pro. Did Crackles say what he was
running? If he did I missed it and assumed it was Pro.

I need to hide some folders on my xp home computer. All the choices
are confusing and I don't want to touch PGP if possible.

I'm assuming he means XP Home, although possibly not.

I've never personally owned an XP Home box, so I can't really say for
certain if EFS is available, but 5 seconds of Googling indicates it's
not available in XP Home, only in XP Pro.

Obviously I'd need to be using some form of encryption.

So can one of you suggest a simple BUT good program to hide folders
without use of a password or pass phrase?

p.s. I do not have a big budget for this.
p.s.s. Be Gentle :-)

If you're running a version of Windows which implements it you could
use EFS. Your folders and files would still be visible just nobody but
you would be able to open anything.

Microsoft have an app called Private Folders but I don't know what it's
like as I haven't used it:

Ahh, I read that as XP computer at home. I now see where I screwed
up. My apologies to Crackles for the misguided post.

Perhaps this may help him:

I read it both ways, at different times. However, in my experience,
most people with "XP Pro" will say so, people that just say "XP" are
usually using "XP Home"

I'm sorry guys that I didn't make it clear I use XP HOME..

I'll try to remember this in the future.

And thanks for all's help.
